Putting vitamins in coke-a-cola is like putting protein in a potato chip. It’s a nice idea, certainly, but I did not buy this soda for my health. I bought this soda because I had a long day and I needed to mainline some sugar and caffeine. If I wanted vitamins, I would have bought a green smoothie and a carrot.
But credit where it is due, the taste of this coke-a-cola lemon is delightful and I am thoroughly enjoying it. It was not a distinctive as I expected (unlike cherry coke which is undeniably cherry-flavored) but the subtle citrus flavor is quite refreshing. There’s even 1% fruit juice, which is more than can be said of most of the vitamin shots in the vitamin cabinet. So sure, if coke wants to give me 20 mg of vitamin C in my soda, I guess that I’ll just have to live with that – just as long as they know that I’m here for the sin, not the salvation.
