Rice cakes can do many things very well, but desert, it seems, is not one of them. I enjoyed the chocolate coating on these cakes, and the flavor of the rice was pretty good, but somewhere in the combination process, the dark chocolate leeched into the puffed rice, making it oily, chewy, and unpleasant. The entire experience left me with the linty impression of licking chocolate off a rug. I still ate them all, of course, but that’s more because I have little to no self-respect, not because they were worth eating.
