I’ve always loved strawberry shortcake. I know it’s not a particularly bold statement to make – I’ve only ever met a handful of people who don’t like strawberry shortcake and they have largely been aberrations against the natural order of things. There’s just nothing better on a spring day, summer afternoon, or winter evening then angel food cake enveloped in whipped cream and strawberries. It’s perfection.
But you can always improve on perfection.
By wrapping it in mochi and selling it at the convenience store.
There’s no way to overstate it: these are just SO GOOD. They’re a tiny slice of angel food cake with a big strawberry and an ungodly amount of cream wrapped in a soft, chewy, strawberry-flavored mochi and served in a two-pack. Could you honestly want anything more in the world? I’m not saying that we’ve reached the pinnacle of dessert perfection –I’m just saying that we’ve reached a pinnacle of desert perfection.
It’s a good time to be alive.
